In 2016, the Malaysian education department introduced computer science into the programs of primary and secondary education. Similar to other countries, teachers need information on how to implement the required topics of the program. Therefore we introduced the MyRobotics project.
With the MyRobotics project we want to establish a novel sustainable robot-building community for children in Kedah. Furthermore, we take the opportunity to research Computer Science Education in collaboration with Ghent University.
1. Train the trainers;
2. Establish a sustainable community using continuous group of teachers;
3. Target local schools in Kedah;
4. Technology transfer and seed infrastructure provided by Dwengo.
During the first phase of the project 40 teachers and 250 children (aged 11-14) from 55 schools were introduced in the field of robotics.
